CNS Group’s Incident Response survey raises serious concerns about the confidence of IT professionals when it comes to their security incident response plans and the impact of a breach for their organisations. Carried out at IP Expo 2016, the survey found that twenty-six percent of respondents were fairly unconfident or not very confident with their organisation’s security incident response plan. Despite this continued lack of confidence, respondents understood the significant impact of a breach upon their organisations with reputational damage topping the list (56 percent), loss of system availability (13 percent), compliance issues (11 percent), loss of IP (nine percent), remediation costs (nine percent) and other (two percent).
As a result, CNS Group is launching its CNS Cyber Rescue Line, a dedicated incident response helpline for organisations that suffer a breach. The helpline directly connects organisations that are experiencing a breach with CNS Group’s team of incident response specialists. The team then provides fast-acting, practical remediation advice as well as best practices for breach prevention. The service will be available to anyone that signs up to the CNS Group CERT service.
