Usually engaged in combating cybercrime, a team of CNS employees have taken to the streets to raise over £1500 for the British Heart Foundation, by completing a sponsored cycle from London to Brighton.

The team of cyber professionals including CTO Paul Rose, Head of Services Mike Carr and Senior Information Security Consultant Ray Jackson, who work at leading cyber security consultancy CNS Group, took time off from their usual roles of fighting cyber crime, to fight heart disease, cycling a gruelling 54 miles (88km) from London to Brighton.

CNS CTO Paul Rose, said: “ We are thrilled to have been a part of the British Heart Foundation’s London to Brighton ride. Although the challenge was tough, we enjoyed every minute of it. All the training, early mornings and late nights traversing the English countryside were worth it in the end. We managed to raise more than £1500 on behalf of CNS Group. Knowing that the money we’ve raised will be used to help save lives and ultimately keep families together is the best part of it all’

The British Heart Foundation are the nation's heart charity and the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research. The charity funds around £100 million of life saving heart research every year without financial support from the government. Their pioneering research has helped to transform the lives of millions of people living with heart and circulatory conditions across the country.

Their London to Brighton Bike Ride was launched 1976. Since then, the ride has grown from 36 riders in its first year to over 15,000 cyclists in 2016. Forty years on nearly one million riders have taken part in the Ride, raising millions of pounds for the British Heart Foundation in the process.

Shannon Simpson, CEO at CNS Group said: “We’re committed to making sure we put back into the community, it’s part of our makeup as a group. The people that work at CNS never fail to amaze us with the lengths they will go to for the things they believe in, and we’re very proud of our colleagues for all the hard work and the money they’ve raised for such a worthy cause.”
